Learning Lesson 1 Task 2 by Matthew Yap(16)

Based on your observation, what is the profile of the commuters during on a typical Friday, between 11.00 am to 12.30 pm?
The profile of the commuters were senior citizens, Students and working and non-working adults plus there were also muslims going to pray.

What challenges did you faced during the data collection period?
I face challenges like trying to record multiple buses at one time and trying to find out if the bus was stopping or not. Also the buses some times moved very fast and I had to count the number of people inside very quickly.

If you were given a 2nd chance to capture data again, suggest at least ONE way to improve the process.

If I were given a 2nd chance to capture data again, I would be clearer and look out for the profile of the commuters more carefully. I would also bring my camera first and prepare my things carefully beforehand.

P.S I could not find out the next bus timing sorry.  :'(

  1. Comprehensive data collected!
It seems that the bus stop is situated at a very 'convenient' location - with so many bus services :) Well, the profile that you recorded would probably give you some idea where the bus were heading towards. This could be inferred from the commuters boarded or onboard the bus :) That's what data collection is for, not just hard figures, but also information to tell us more about the surroundings (in this case).

For the expected arrival time of the bus, you may find out from the following websites:
    (1) http://www.smrtbuses.com.sg/ebusguide/busguide.asp
    (2) http://www.sbstransit.com.sg/transport/trpt_bus_timetable.aspx

You may assume that the first bus arrived at the expected arrival time. That would provide you with a good estimate of the expected arrival time of subsequently buses :)
