### eLearning Lesson 1 Task 1: Choice of Graphs

Among the 4 graphs (Line Graph, Bar Graphs, Pictograms, Pie Charts), identify ONE graph that is NOT an appropriate choice to represent the information?
I think that the Pie Chart is not and appropriate graph to represent this information.

Why do you think it's not appropriate?
I think so as the pie chart in this case represents the results in the nearest whole numbers via degrees. Thus, it would be very hard to calculate the results and if calculated incorrectly, it can be horrendous.

What makes you think the 3 remaining graphs are appropriate?
I think that the others are appropriate as each of them can show clearly the exact amount/quantity/number there is/are to the audience, also all 3 have different uses.

#### 1 comment:

1. Based on your first reason, based accuracy in representating data due to rounding off:

If the figures given, after calculating result in exact figures (where no rounding off is necessary), would PIE graph still be appropriate then?

Points to ponder...
What kind of information does PIE chart usually provide?

You mentioned "all 3 have different uses".
So, what are the different uses? When, would you suggest, to use each type of graph?
