Bus-stop Name:Queensway-Blk 166 (B11029)
Time Started : 11.00am

Bus services: 51,61,64,93,100,123,147,153,196,198,855,961. (642 private bus)

Based on your observation, what is the profile of the commuters during on a typical Friday, between 11.00 am to 12.30 pm?
There are no children that is older than primary one student. Most of them are adults.

What are the challenges you faced during the data collection period?
The people were looking at me. I felt nervous and hid the paper but now i know that doing that will make you look more suspicious.

If you were given a 2nd chance to capture data again, suggest at least ONE way to improve the process.
Maybe, i would move to a quieter area to collect data.

Sorry for the late submission. It is very hard to organize them...

  1. Wow, there are so many buses at your bus-stop! and I think your record is very comprehensive :)

Based on the number of bus services available, I think it's obvious that it's a residential area that's well populated, so the crowd is unavoidable.
(You noticed I inferred this information based on the table you presented)?

In fact, from the crowd, you made an interesting observation, "There are no children that is older than primary one student". We could make more inference :)

There are more information available - Make a guess, where are the adults heading to?

Negative values are recorded for Bus 93. Why? You should be able to explain :)

  2. I think the adults are heading to work. From 11-12.30, except for us,the e-learning students and MCed students, the others are studying in schools so unless they are ultra-late or released super early, we would not see any of them. On the other hand, the pre-school children are released early, the nearest pre-school timing is from 9 to 12.

For 93's timing, that is because average of the the timing of intervals between each timing except for the 1st bus to the 2nd bus are lower than the 15 min. 15 min refers to the average interval of the actual arrival time of each timing of '93' .

Also, for bus 961, the elderly are more than the adults, this is because 961 heads to Chinatown which the haunts of the elderly because they are retired and have nothing to do, they would visit these places like Orchard road and Chinatown.
